Review: Foam playmats are great for young babies and toddlers, and ideal for the early crawling & walking stages, as they provide a soft-ish yet grippy surface to sit and play on. This 9 piece interlocking mat is colourful & attractive, easily stored away & covers a big enough area for your little one to sit & play on.
It is unfortunate that with 9 tiles, three of the colours were duplicated in this case. Having said that, the foam mats were bright & cheerful colours, and all three of the primary colours are represented. Georgie enjoys taking them apart & putting them back together, and as we are trying to teach colours at the moment this is an ideal opportunity to talk about them.
The mats are a decent thickness & seem fairly standard in size, providing protection to the floor from your child & their toys, and to your child from the hard floor!

The beauty of the nine interlocking square mats is that you can choose how to put them together; in a 3 x 3 square, or 2 x 4 rectangle (with one spare). Using 8 of the mats in a rectangle allowed us to fill the gap between rug, sofa & play kitchen perfectly and provided the ideal floor covering for Georgie to play on next to her kitchen.
Lydia has been crawling happily around on the mat & found them a lot easier to move about on than our slippy laminate flooring, especially in the earliest days of her mastering crawling. Georgie, naked after a bath & playing with her kitchen, pee’ed on the mats… the good thing is they are really easy to clean and you can even put EVA foam mats like these through your dishwasher if you like.
£5.00 for the 9 mat set is a fairly decent price & ideal if you only have a small area to cover. We give this play mat 4 stars.
